Privacy and cookie policy

In short: you do not need an account. Your map, name and photo are made on your own phone or browser. Unless you tap "Post on Facebook", your name and photo do not reach our server. If you book a tour, only your name and mobile number come to us, for the booking. If you tick the business list box on a business map, the business name and logo come to us.

What we keep

Site statistics: page visits, how many and which districts or countries you ticked (without your name), whether you added a photo, the number of downloads and shares, and the type of browser. These make up the "how far everyone has been" statistics.
If you share: when you tap "Post on Facebook", the picture of your map (with the name and photo you added) is kept at a public link (ghuredekha.com/m/...) so that Facebook can show a preview. Your name and number of districts may also appear on the leaderboard.
Feedback: what you write with the "right / wrong" buttons, and your contact details if you give them.
If you book a tour: your name, mobile number, how many seats and when you want to go. These are used only to contact you to confirm the booking and to tell the tour operator (such as Poribrajok) about your seats; not for advertising or anything else.
If you ask to be listed: if you tick "Ghure Dekha Bangladesh may show our name and logo in its business list" on the study abroad or business map and download the map, your business name, logo and the ticked districts or countries reach us. We check them before showing them in the site's business list. Without the tick none of this is sent.
If you add a local product: what you give on a district guide or on "Famous food and products of the 64 districts" (shop or page name, what you sell, a photo, a Facebook page link, a mobile number) shows to everyone on the site at once. To stop misuse we also keep your device type and a one-way code made from your IP address. When someone reports an entry we keep the reason and the same kind of code for the reporter. You can delete your entry yourself from the browser you added it from, and we can remove it at any time.
In your browser: what you ticked, your name and your photo stay saved in your own browser, so you do not have to start again when you come back.

Meta Pixel and cookies

This site uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Through cookies it learns whether someone visited the site, started making a map, added a photo, downloaded or shared, which district guide they read, and how long the page was open. With it we (Fair Convener) can show the site's visitors our travel, education and event adverts on Facebook and Instagram, and measure how well the adverts work.

The Pixel is not sent your name, your photo or the list of districts you have been to; only how many districts and which page. Meta uses this information under its own privacy policy.

How to switch it off

Tap the button below and the Pixel will no longer run in this browser. You can also turn off cookies in your browser settings, or choose which adverts you see in Facebook's ad settings.

To remove your name from a shared map link or the leaderboard, to delete your booking details, or with any other question, email info@fairconvener.com or message us on Facebook.
